As industries change and businesses become more decentralized, there is an emerging set of skills required to successfully navigate through this transitional landscape. These skills reflect the growing need to work independently and self-market in a city dominated by the internet. The rapid change in New York’s economic climate, coupled with a growing focus on the web has left our workforce unprepared.
What’s the SkillsNYC solution?
Our solution is to provide affordable, practical workshops that focus on real skills and targeted objectives. We have a real problem with many career services that charge thousands of dollars to help you “tackle your job search” or teach you the art of “power networking.” We’ve worked hard to identify the specific skills New Yorkers need to thrive in this unique environment, and we’ve packaged them into a series of concrete and hands-on workshops.

We are a diverse network of professionals with extensive experience in web development, social media, interactive marketing, and community building. We are working professionals, former educators, and leaders in our fields.
